We have been blessed with two special daughters and two sons from Eastern Europe. We welcome you to follow our journey as a family of five, waiting to travel and pick up #6, with the ins and outs of family, education, farm life, and love!

Suticase

Summer is officially over for the Layne family.  I started school on Monday and the kiddos returned from a short summer break on Wednesday.  Hannah and Mila start kindergarten and preschool this Monday.

The beginning of a new school year brings all kinds of new changes--new schedules, new teachers, new routines to work through and establish our own classroom schedule and routine.  I had much work to do today, so Doug took the girls with him to his parents so I could get some things done without interruption.

The lesson plans are done, the weekly lesson plans have been typed and printed out.  The kitchen and living room are clean, and three loads of laundry are washed, dried, and folded.  I came up stairs to put away clothes and saw our suitcase we used for our summer trips.  As I cleaned the last few items out of it and put the suitcase back in the closet, I couldn't help wondering what our next adventure would be--where would that very suitcase travel to next?

Sometimes I wish we still used the old style trunks, like in the days gone by.  The trunks that acquired a sticker for each destination--each journey it accompanied a person on.  What would our trunk look like? (What would yours look like?)

Our trunk would have a 2 stickers from Ukraine (one mission trip, one adoption) two Florida stickers, a Serbia sticker, a Mexico sticker (Mission trip for Doug), and a Georgia sticker.  What stickers are in our future???  Where will our journey take us?  The Lord is the greatest travel agent--a great planner.  He has every detail planned out.  I can't wait for him to reveal to us where our next journey will lead us to!  Ukraine, Serbia, Mexico, or somewhere totally new and unknown to us?  My prayer is that our trunk be covered in stickers--that we are blessed with many more adventures as a family!
