September Roundup

I can't believe that September is almost over!  The weather here in Ohio has made these last few weeks still feel like summer!

At the end of August we walked as a family to raise funds for Alzheimer's research.  My dear, sweet Grandma was diagnosed with the disease almost 10 years ago.  My sisters and their kids, my Mom, and our family, walked together, praying that one day there will be a cure or way to prevent Alzheimers.

At the beginning of the month it was time to re-visit Mila's IEP and revamp it for another year.  One of her objectives on last year's IEP was to use 10 intelligible words consistently!  Oh gracious did we doubt our little Serbian Princess!  Mila talks in 3-5 word sentences now and gets very angry if you don't listen to her words when she is speaking to you!! :)  Hannah is loving kindergarten and is coming home daily with new things she wants to share that she has learned.  My little lady needs some special accommodations in the classroom.  Check out the comfy seat she gets to sit on!

We have been out to Grandma's and got the chance to ride our horses.  The girls had a great time brushing off the horses, feeding them apples, and then riding around the pasture field.

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting a pastor and his wife from Mexico.  Doug had the pleasure of meeting Pastor Lorenzo when he went on his mission trip last January.  It was fun to show them around the farm and let them meet the girls.  In Mexico, many children with disabilities are placed in orphanages, so they enjoyed our girls very much.  And the girls thought they were pretty cool too!
