We have been blessed with two special daughters and two sons from Eastern Europe. We welcome you to follow our journey as a family of five, waiting to travel and pick up #6, with the ins and outs of family, education, farm life, and love!

Submited...commited

The American in me needed to know. I tried my best to be patient, wait, listen, and watch for the e-mail to come in...but I caved. I e-mailed across the pond today to inquire about our paperwork. 'J' told us there was a chance our paperwork would be submitted this week.

And so the e-mail came in, (in response to mine) to say our dossier had been submitted yesterday; Tuesday, April 7, 2009.

And so now we wait again.

I am SO TANKFUL for Shelley. She answers my every question. She's been across the same pond we hope to cross (not to mention the one we have already crossed!), and is an expert in the country (or at least she has fooled me if she isn't!). When I e-mailed her for what the next step in our process was, her response was:
There's no specific time line. Since M is in the registry already, all that they have to do is approve your dossier and then send it on to her adoption center (the town where she was born). Her social worker will look at your information and approve you to adopt her. They'll send that approval back to the ministry and then the ministry will give you a travel date. *If* her center is fast, then this can be done quickly. The fact that M is in the registry is a pretty good sign that her center is on top of things!

So again today we feel humbly blessed for another baby step towards bringing home our daughter. We continue to pray for open minds and officials that complete paperwork in a timely manner. I pray that someone, somewhere, understands even a small bit, how each child deserves a Mama and Papa, a family to love and be loved by, someone to connect to, lean on, and count on each day for the rest of her life. Oh, and I know it is all in God's timing, but I'm still putting in that little addition..."and God I would love to travel in May, to have time to be home with the girls and bond and adjust before returning to school in September. Amen!"

I'm not an expert! I've just been there before :)

We're praying with you that you have your newest daughter home to enjoy the summer months with you!

Congrats!!

It's great reading about the milestones in your adoption journey. We have just begun the process for the same EE country and following your story has helped me have confidence that everything will work out. So thank you!
