Hot Tuesday - day 6

UGH is it hot here today. It has reached 95. Doug said he perspired in places he never knew he had!! :) I am SUNBURNT! In all seriousness, it is hot here, but the humidity is low, so the hot isn't horrible....

Mila was quiet again this morning. She yawned a lot during our morning visit time. It is hard to know if she didn't sleep well, someone/something kept her awake, or if she was just having a sleepy morning, but she sure was tired. At one point, she was sitting on my lap and almost fell asleep with her thumb in her mouth.

When we arrived for our afternoon visit at 2:30, Mila was still sleeping. A caregiver that could speak some English told us to wait in the little room we have visited with her before. At 3:00pm, no one had brought her to us, so I went to check. When I went to her room, someone was changing her diaper and getting her ready for our visit. Sadly, since it was 3:00pm, we had just an hour to visit. Again, Mila was fairly quiet today, happy to just sit and be next to Doug or I. She babbled a little. We kept her a few minutes longer than normal and took her to her room around 4:15.

Part of our paperwork here in Serbia is to have two written observations written and submitted to the ministry officials. One was written by people in Mila's hometown on Friday after our meeting at the ministry and the other observation was yesterday, written today by people who work at Mila's orphanage. Now we wait for the papers to be signed by a ministry official so we can proceed with her adoption.

Another hot walk back to the apartment this afternoon. Jasmina is taking us to a concert tonight. There is a pizza in the oven for dinner...again, no English directions. I can read the numbers to know what temperature for the over and how long, but I have no idea what setting to put the oven on. Another surprise dinner! At least Doug is keeping an eye on the pizza's progress. He is sitting on the floor watching the pizza cook. Cheap entertainment! Couldn't they make appliances universal???

You are very brave to use the oven! :) On Njegoseva Street there is a huge flea market. It's neat to see. As far as I can tell it is not to far away. Hope it gets a little cooler!
