Meeting our little man

We arrived back in the region after midnight last night, so I emailed our facilitator to tell her we were back and we had all our paperwork in hand and let her know we were anxious to meet our little man.  When I woke up and checked my email, there was one from her saying we needed to make copies of our paperwork before visiting.  We arranged to have our paperwork picked up.
We got a call around noon to say that someone would be at the apartment in 10 minutes to pick up, so we quickly packed up a few toys and headed downstairs.  We took a short ride to the outskirts of the city, then stopped at the regional administration building.  We waited for our facilitator to get some needed documentation, then headed to the orphanage.
At the orphanage we met with the doctor's assistant who told us about our "Kostya".  We learned he was born at 38 weeks.  He was 7.5 pounds and 17" inches at birth.  According to the doctor he is able stand holding on to the edge of his crib, roll over, and sit with assistance.  Then they brought him into the room.  OH-my-GOODNNESS, he is too much.  I had to fight back tears.  He sat on the doctor's lap and tried to get the papers she was reading!
Eating the paper the doctor gave him!

Trying to get the papers on the desk!
We were able to spend some time with "Kostya" while our facilitator worked on some paperwork.  From our time visting we learned that "Kostya" is able to commando crawl, loves to lay/sit with his feet out in front of him (the kid is like Gumby!), likes Mama's mouth and likes to put his fingers in Mama's mouth.  He has two bottom teeth, likes to put lots of things in his mouth, and likes music!

Papa has already told him that he will be Papa's official nap buddy....he even tried to convince him to nap with him today!

He is TOTALLY different from the girls (yes, I know, for obvious reasons)...he is SOOO limber.  So limber that I wonder if his hips are "loose".  Laurie told me that some DS kiddos have worn hip hugger shorts to promote their hips to stay where they should be.  Here are just few of our favorite pictures from today, thanks to our wonderful photographer and friend, Anya.

Videos to come...when I can get them uploaded! :)

OH MY! He is precious! He is so small for his age but they usually are when you get a little one like him from the Orphanage.
I cannot wait until you get him home and feed him some good food he is going to grow at a rapid pace. With him being this little you will get to enjoy his baby years.
I assume you already have a Nursery sat up at home? If not then you will have fun doing it when you get home.

Have you guys decided on a name for him?

To bad you cannot take Max with you to visit and meet his new brother. However, hopefully it will be just a short period before you will have them both in your arms forever anyway.

Congratulations and praying for you guys.

Love,
Sheila
